Covid 19

The welfare of our guests and our Pettifers team is always our first priority. We are currently working extremely hard, so when you are able to visit us , you can do this feeling assured that we have in place all the precautions to minimise the spread of Covid-19 and keep you and your loved ones safe.

We have rethought and reworked our hotel operations. Extensive health and safety guidelines have been prepared and implemented and our teams have been trained, so we can get back to doing what we do best, welcoming you again. Read more about the measures below.

Please note: From the 8th August 2020 and in line with government guidance, it is mandatory to wear a face covering when moving around our hotel public spaces. Your face covering can be removed when seated in our public spaces, dining, when in your bedroom and when using our outdoor spaces.

Pre-arrival

You can book your stay online at Pettifershotel.co.uk or by email or by calling us on 01666 577007. We recommend before booking your stay that you read through our ‘Covid Safe"’ procedures to ensure you understand all the actions we have in place to keep you safe during your stay and minimise the risk of Covid-19 spreading. We strongly recommend when available that you download the government approved track and tracing application to ensure we are all alerted to any guests who may pose a risk of spreading Covid-19.

We politely request that if you are displaying any symptoms of Covid-19 that you call us to postpone your stay. These include; A high temperature and a new and persistent cough.
If you have booked directly with us, prior to your arrival we will email or contact you with all the necessary information about your stay, our latest Covid-19 management processes and information about the local area.

Arrival & check-in

We politely request that if you are displaying any symptoms of Covid-19 that you do not enter the hotel. These include; A high temperature and a new and persistent cough.
From Friday 18th September 2020, all guests will be asked undertake a temperature check upon arrival. To protect the safety of our other guests, anyone with a temperature above 37.8 degrees will not be allowed to enter the premises.
It is mandatory to wear a face covering when moving around our hotel public spaces. We ask that all guests adhere to this when checking into the hotel and in our public spaces.

Upon arrival we will automatically take payment for your stay using the debit or credit card details we hold on file and ask that any extras are paid at time of order during your stay to negate the need to "check out" on your final day, just drop back the key please !!!

We have set up hand sanitising stations throughout the hotel for you to use and we politely ask you use these when entering the hotel.
Extensive cleaning of shared surfaces will be conducted throughout the day by our ‘Clean Team’ and checked by our management team.
We have equipped our loos with sanitising handwash at the basins, as well as contact-free hand dryers .
To avoid overcrowding in the washrooms, we ask that guests who are staying with us use the bathrooms in their bedrooms.

When walking through the hotel we will ask that you please use your discretion and consideration by keeping a social distance of a minimum of 2 meters between yourself and other guests / Staff.

Bedrooms & Bathrooms

Every guest bedroom and en-suite will be fully sanitised before each stay and sealed to ensure no contamination occurs prior to your arrival.

Fabric items such as mattresses, pillows, cushions, carpet, chairs and other furniture is sprayed with an approved sanitising solution, which is effective in killing Covid-19 but otherwise harmless to you and us.

Our housekeeping teams undergo strict sanitisation prior to starting work and will wear the appropriate PPE during cleaning.

Our housekeeping will not enter you room again during your stay, if you need additional towels or bedding please advise Reception.

Food & Drink

You can dine with us feeling assured that we have in place precautions to minimise the spread of Covid-19 and keep you and your fellow diners safe.

We can only accept bookings of 6 or less people, and must close our doors at 10pm. We are therefore no longer able to take orders beyond 8pm.

It is mandatory to wear a face covering when moving around our public spaces. Your face covering can be removed when seated in our public spaces and dining. We kindly ask all guests to put their face covering back on when leaving the table.

When you stay with us you can dine in your room .

If you are not staying with us you can still dine with us. All that we ask is that you book your table in advance and provide the necessary contact details to support the NHS track and trace programme.

If you are staying with us we will confirm at check-in your dining requirements during your stay.

To maintain the social distancing guidelines, we will not be offering drinks at the bar, instead we will offer a full table service throughout the hotel.

All Serving Staff, including those in our kitchens and dining areas, undergo further training and sanitisation prior to starting work and will be appropriately attired in line with PPE guidance.

We will only be accepting credit and debit cards at this time and Residents too will be required to settle their food & drinks bill each day.

Check out

To check out, all you need to do is return your room key to the box in reception.
You may request a final bill to be emailed to you at reception. If you did not book directly with the hotel, you will need to supply an email address to the reception team.
