Step outside and enjoy Pettifers’ large walled gardens, terrace and patio — peaceful outdoor spaces where guests can relax, have a drink, let children enjoy the fresh air, and make the most of a countryside stay in Crudwell.
Whether you’re staying for a Cotswold break, visiting with your dog, meeting friends for a drink, or simply looking for a quiet place to sit after a day exploring, our outdoor areas are an easy, welcoming part of the Pettifers experience.
On warmer days, the terrace and patio are lovely places to sit outside with a drink, coffee or something to eat, depending on current food availability. Tables are set among the greenery, with garden seating for relaxed time outdoors.
During the summer, the lawns are sometimes set up with a traditional croquet pitch, giving guests the chance to enjoy a very English garden pastime. At other times, the gardens are simply there to be enjoyed — for reading in the sunshine, stretching your legs, or taking a quiet moment in the fresh air.
Our gardens give families extra space to enjoy during their stay. Children can play outside while adults relax nearby, making the grounds especially useful for family breaks and longer countryside stays.
Dogs are welcome in the gardens too, provided they are supervised and kept under control. Dog waste bins are available, and we kindly ask all guests to help keep the outdoor areas clean and enjoyable for everyone.
For more information about staying with your dog, please see our dog-friendly hotel page.
To make your stay as easy as possible, Pettifers has three on-site car parks:
Parking is free for hotel guests. Accessible spaces can be requested in advance, and we can also accommodate larger vehicles or private coaches by prior arrangement.

The gardens at Pettifers are more than somewhere to pass through. They give guests space to slow down, sit outside, enjoy the countryside air and feel properly settled during their stay.
Families appreciate the open space, dog owners value having somewhere on-site for their dogs, and guests looking for a quiet Cotswold break can enjoy the simple pleasure of sitting in the garden with a drink after a day out.
