Mayfield Cottage is our charming two-bedroom self-catering cottage in Crudwell, right next door to Pettifers Hotel. With its own parking, open-plan living space and private courtyard garden, it’s a lovely choice for families, couples, longer stays and guests travelling with a dog.

Pettifers has a long history in Crudwell. Dating back to 1638, the original site was once a veterinary apothecary, serving the local rural community for generations.
Today, Pettifers is a relaxed country hotel with plenty of character, shaped by its history but focused on simple, thoughtful hospitality: comfortable rooms, friendly service, dog-friendly stays and a peaceful village setting near Malmesbury.
Enjoy Pettifers’ large walled gardens, terrace and patio during your stay. They’re peaceful spaces for sitting outside with a drink, relaxing after a day out, letting children enjoy the fresh air, or spending time outdoors with your dog.
In warmer months, the gardens may also feature a croquet pitch, adding to the traditional country-hotel feel. Pettifers also has three on-site parking areas, with accessible parking available by request.
